Moving In

So I decided to do another blog, as I have had people tell me how much they enjoyed reading about my adventures in Germany. Well I figure I will have some pretty interesting adventures here in Culinary School as well!

Friday morning I got up and did some last minute running around, and by noon we were on the road. Gramp was driving while Mom was navigating and Gran, Dad and I were jammed into the back seat. The contents of my new room were piled in behind us, and I prayed Gramp never made a sudden stop.

My working hours finally caught up with me and I snoozed most of the way there, though it was not a far journey, to the bridge takes about an hour and from there to Charlottetown normally only take another hour. Unfortunatly Mom gave up her navigational role to take on being the driver, and this put Gramp in the passenger's seat. Note: Passenger's seat, not navigator's seat. Gramp took us on a 3 hour shortcut and we arrived to my residence around 5. Of course we checked into the hotel , and then went out for supper once all my stuff was in my room, left to unpack and organize later on that night.

I had corresponded with my roomate before I arrived, and when I showed up she was nowhere to be found. She is RLA which gives her a lot of work to do, especially on the move-in weekend. This wasn't a big deal, as it was nice to unpack in peace, and I took all night doing so.

When I woke up Saturday morning I was to call Mom and we were to meet up for breakfast at Cora's. Hurricane Earl had hit, but was really nothing more than some rain and high winds. Even so Gran wanted to hit the roads soon, so we made an early breakfast and picked up a few last minute groceries for myself before they crossed the bridge and left me stranded on an island.
